After working for several years in the chemical industry and as official pesticide consultant I decided to establish an independent agricultural consultancy . Hiebler Agricultural Engineering Services thus came into being as of 1st Jan. 1995. In the first two years the focus was mainly on trials and tests in the fields of fruit and wine farming. Since 1997, a further employee has been working on maize tests.
Field trials are carried out on our own sites in Styria (main growing area for fruits and maize in Austria and also a large wine growing area) and additionally on leased sites all over Austria. The large geographic dispersion of the sites allows us to find the most suitable location for the specific pest under investigation at any particular time. For example, trials can be carried out in areas of high precipitation, or in areas exhibiting drier climate conditions, as the need may be.
